A specialist photography service for organisations involved in regenerating or transforming their physical heritage spaces.

To deliver a portfolio of imagery for your:

  • formal archival and conservation records

  • funder /stakeholder reports and evaluation

  • communications and promotional story content before, during and after major projects are undertaken

  • artistic exploration

  • any other project specific purposes, with mix and focus as required

Why me?

I’ve had the pleasure and experience of being involved in a number of ways over many years with organisations involved with the preservation and development of historic buildings, environments and collections. Whether as visitor attractions or for enhanced/repurposing for both retention and future-proofing, including major National Lottery Heritage Fund regeneration projects at Bletchley Park and the Hat District, Luton.

Whilst your internal team and indeed contractors will be able to, and should, take ad-hoc, rolling β€˜snaps’ for general record-keeping and social content, my specific experience and overall approach will ensure you have long-term quality and consistency towards you objectives in terms of depth and breadth of key imagery and aesthetic from start to finish. This will bring cohesion, professionalism and added value to the wider success of the project for all stakeholders and interested parties..

What do I do?

I professionally build a library of unstaged, unobtrusive, and in real-time, high-quality imagery throughout the life of your project to cover areas such as:

  • buildings and surrounding spaces in their pre-development state from wide, literal and locational perspectives both externally and internally.

  • details of state of repair, build materials from the literal to the more forensic exploration of the physical space, in line with any agreed brief and requirements

  • reportage of the ongoing refurbishment/build capturing key events, elements and processes by specialist trades and artisans and the overall feel and personality of the transformation.

  • a bank of completed imagery showcasing the new spaces in launch and in operation for ongoing promotion. communication and marketing, including artistic display.

How does it work?

Working on a whole-project commission basis, typical deliverables would include:

  • initial scoping to understand and discuss the overall scale, timing and requirements of the project, including a site pre-visit as appropriate.

  • written photography project proposal and agreement of terms including a fixed-fee quotation.

  • initial pre-works visit to capture the spaces before commencement of works

  • periodic visits to site in line with agreed proposal and specific logistic/diary practicalities, working professionally and safely to build relationships with contractors to capture all aspects of rolling requirements, with minimal project disruption.

  • post-project completion visit to capture new spaces in action.

  • curation and supply of all fully edited, high-resolution images delivered after each site visit by way of online download.

What does it include?

Your project fee would cover all the following with no hidden costs. All projects received a written and detailed proposal and quotation for agreement at the outset.

  • creative and project planning time

  • onsite photography* time and contractor liaison

  • post-shoot curation, image editing and online delivery of library to brief on a rolling basis

  • unlimited non-commercial license for documentary imagery supplied for sharing under Creative Commons.

  • travel time, consumables, PPE.

  • public liability and professional indemnity insurance

* photography is predominantly still imagery but can include still, video, 360 and drone imagery (2024), in line with agreed project scope/deliverables.

How much does it cost?

All my projects are designed to capture the whole start-to-finish regeneration process, which are typically over 12 to 36 months or longer, so the length of the project and number of visits required to deliver your requirements will naturally affect the total cost, but this retained-service approach allows for both significant per-visit discounts and commercial value-add.
